Femininity as an Alchemical Process
I experience femininity not as a fixed state, but as an ongoing alchemical process. It is shaped by pressure, time, and inner movement, constantly transforming rather than stabilising. Alchemy was never only about turning base metals into gold; it was a symbolic language for inner change. In my work, femininity follows this same logic. It moves through darkness, heat, and illumination, becoming something more refined through emotional experience rather than certainty.
Glow and Shadow as Twin Forces
Glow and shadow are not opposites in my visual language. They are collaborators. Shadow creates the vessel, the contained space where emotion can gather without spilling. Glow emerges from within that space, not as spectacle but as evidence of internal heat. Feminine alchemy depends on this relationship. Without shadow, glow becomes exposed and fragile. Without glow, shadow becomes inert. Together, they form a dynamic balance that mirrors emotional transformation itself.
Emotional Heat and Inner Transmutation
Transformation requires heat. Emotion provides that heat through desire, grief, longing, and devotion. These states intensify the inner world, forcing change even when it feels uncomfortable. In alchemical imagery, fire is both destructive and clarifying. In my work, emotional heat appears as chromatic tension, soft radiance, or concentrated colour fields.
